Who We Are

We are an independent press with a history that began in academia in the 1970s.
We started as New Horizons Press until the United Nations wanted that name. So we added "of Chico, California." That was a referred, academic press that managed a dozen publications but suspended its pioneering adventure when Scholars Press of the American Academy of Religion came to Chico, which we assisted. In the 1980s publications of the Center for Free Religion focused on work in Transylvania and the Unitarian movement there. Dr. Judit Gellerd's writings and translations are now included. Gumu Glen Kila's book on Hawaiian Indigenous Faith and Practice opened another vista.
These elements are all combined as Uniquest Publishing.
